Actually, that’s the main “selling point” of our CMS - it integrates automatically into your html pages. You just need to upload them into the same folder where IU is installed.
Now you can upload any HTML file or folder. Once you visit this file through your browser Instant Update will automatically parse the HTML and your website will be ready for editing.
However, sometimes some servers need some help to run IU smoothly.
If you log in and can’t see IU menu while on your page (ie.
yourwebsite.com/page.html) try to load it explicitly through IU (ie.
yourwebsite.com/index.php/page.html). If it works, then you need to enable so called URL rewriting. See this:
If it works (you can see IU menu when accessing your page directly), but all generated links contain
index.php in them, then check this:
Note that all individual blocks (usually
div elements) you want to be editable must have their html
id attribute defined. Value of this ID should represent descriptive block name an must be unique within same page, but different pages may contain blocks with the same IDs. Actually, if you mark block as global, it will be used in all pages which contain div with the same ID. More info here:
