We are glad to announce that v0.2 of Instant Update CMS has been released.
- Back-end editor replaced with CKeditor
- Front-end (live) editor replaced with inline CKeditor
- Various small improvements and fixes
See it in action here.
How to upgrade?
Since this release is all about CKeditor there are no database changes in this version, so upgrade from v0.1 can be done by only replacing files in your IU installation.
Upgrade via git
If you are using git you can simply do a
git pull command in the console while your working directory is set to your Instant Update installation.
You can simply download v0.2 from GitHub and replace all your installation files. Note that you must NOT replace files
iu-application/config/database.php and any other configuration files you may have changed in the meantime.
Note that there are large number of files removed in this release (old editors' files) so if you only overwrite your installation folder with new version they will remain intact although they are not used anymore. That is not a problem but they are occupying precious disk space. If you want a clean folder structure, I would advise you to remove
iu-resources folder completely and all folders within
iu-application except the
config folder, then upload these folders again from the downloaded (v0.2) archive. Remember not to overwrite
Once your files are updated you should open
www.yourwebsite.com/install and go through the upgrade process. Although there are no database structure changes, this will update version number in
installed.txt so you won't have problems with future updates.
