Ok, so I just had to do a reinstall of IU for a client. Install went smoothly, but when I got to "Edit Live" none of the assets I have defined with an ID are flashing in as editable. I dont know what could be wrong? Any ideas anyone?
Hi , have you setup the .htaccess file?
Yes, .htaccess file is in place. There are certain elements that are editable, but ones I am specifying with a new ID are not. Is there a way for me to tell IU to refresh and look for new IDs?
Figured it out. I had an ID ahead of everything that it was grabbing for some reason. Weird. Thanks all.
If your wrapper element needs to have an ID (for CSS styling), you can add class iu-skip to it and IU will skip it and proceed to the inner elements (which have ID)
Hi I am facing a weird issue myself and I have not setup the .htaccess file? Could you please help me a little? When I click on edit website live, nothing appears, just a white screen. Can you tell me the setup of your .htaccess file?
Hi, I believe there’s an example included in the download of the install files. Just rename it.
I can upload an example if you need it.
Yes I renamed the file shortly after posting the reply. Although something’s still missing. I can’t upload a single html page for some reason. Do I need to copy ALL the files (that were extracted) to multiple folders? Apart from the root that is?
Yes, you’ll need all the folders downloaded, as part of the install. Then just upload your html files. Can you log onto the dashboard etc?
Yes I can login to the dashboard and I copied all the files in the root directory as part of the install. Did you try this in your local environment, like xampp? I think there’s some problem with internal config. And I don’t have enough experience with Apache hence can’t even understand if there’s something wrong.
I’ve had it working fine in Xammp with no issues, what version of php are you running?
I’m using php 7 with Xampp version 7.1.4
Try a fresh install using php 5, I believe 7 is now supported but you have to use composer to implement.
You shouldn’t downgrade your PHP as PHP7 is much faster than 5.x and it is supported by Instant Update
